Having previously owned or been involved with several health related businesses, Mary was well qualified for launching the National Chamber of Health in 2006. At the age of 18 she was actively helping her father with his own business, and throughout her career, has been a motivated entrepreneur who strongly believes in supporting both the environment and local businesses. Mary is a native Coloradoan and her roots to the land and community run deep. In 1867 her great grandfather came to Colorado where five generations of her family have continued to live.
Through her own experience, Mary is a true believer in alternative and complementary forms of health care. She believes there is never an “either or” answer to anything. Her conviction is that there is more than one approach to meeting health care needs, and that healing modalities can all work together for everyone’s maximum benefit.
Although complementary and alternative healing therapies tend to be thought of as “new,” many valid treatments such as herbal medicine and acupuncture have existed for thousands of years. Mary’s goal is to educate and help people become aware of such alternatives, and to encourage them to take a more active role in their own personal health.
